ii89 best pokies 2026, ranked by RTP

Why this list is ranked by RTP

Plenty of round-ups of the best pokies rank games by looks or by headline prizes. ii89 ranks its 2026 list by the one number that measures value over time: the RTP each studio publishes for its default setting, which is the setting ii89 runs. The eight online pokies below come from seven studios, and each write-up says what the game does and why it is on the list.

A higher RTP lowers the long-run cost of play; it does not make a win more likely tonight. Volatility, shown alongside, tells you how bumpy the ride will be. The ii89 guide to pokie odds explains both in more depth.

The ranking at a glance

From first to eighth, the long-run cost rises from about AU$2 to about AU$5.02 per AU$100 staked. "Not published" means the studio has not released that figure; the game's info panel at ii89 shows what applies. To plan a paid session around any of these, read the real money pokies guide.

The eight games, one by one

1. African Wild Life (VPower), 98.00%

Fifty pay lines, a quick-spin mode and a special Photography game. It takes the top spot on RTP alone, and its medium volatility keeps the swings manageable on a mid-sized budget. More VPower games at ii89

2. Safari Sam (Betsoft), 97.5%

Thirty lines on 5×3 reels with free spins and a safari bonus round. It is the highest-RTP Betsoft game in the ii89 studio guide, which puts it in second place. Betsoft at ii89

3. Labubu: Fall In Wild (AdvantPlay), 97.48%

Avalanche reels on a 6×5 board with 32,400 ways, boards that change shape and TYCOCO multipliers, plus free games. It has the top AdvantPlay RTP, and AdvantPlay slots are among the games the ii89 New Member Bonus and $88 Free Chip can be played on. AdvantPlay at ii89

4. Golden Egypt (AdvantPlay), 97.05%

Starts at 243 ways and grows to 7,776 as cascades clear stone blockers; six scarabs open a three-part bonus game. On the list for players who like a game that visibly opens up as they play.

5. Lucky Coming (JILI), 97%

A single pay line with Ganesha wilds on the middle reel that carry x3, x5 or x9, and a full board of wilds pays the top x1,111. Low–medium volatility makes it the steadiest game on the list. JILI at ii89

6. Five Awakens (FastSpin), 96.92%

Ways expand from 3,125 up to 59,049, and mystery symbols upgrade. It earns its place as a medium-volatility ways game with a near-97% RTP, for players who like watching the ways expand. FastSpin at ii89

7. Big Bass Bonanza (Pragmatic Play), 96.71%

Ten lines on 5×3 reels. In free spins the fisherman wild collects money symbols worth up to 2,000x, and retriggers lift the multiplier as high as 10x. It is the only high-volatility pick, for players who accept long quiet spells in exchange for a bigger feature. Pragmatic Play at ii89

8. Wolf Run (IGT), 94.98%

Forty pay lines on five reels. It finishes last on RTP, and we include it for that reason: it is a familiar name, and the table shows what a popular classic costs next to the games above. IGT at ii89

Using the ranking

Top of the table is not automatically right for you. A small balance suits Lucky Coming or a medium-volatility game near the top; Big Bass Bonanza suits a bigger budget relative to the stake. A small PayID deposit works on any of them, and PayID pokies at ii89 shows how to size it. Try any of them free in demo once you are logged in to ii89, then compare more titles on the ii89 online pokies comparison or browse every studio on the ii89 providers page.
